It’s over 5 years since Scotland’s Greenspace Map was launched. A joint venture with Ordnance Survey, Scottish Government and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy will see a new product launched in late Spring. The OSMM Greenspace Layer (part of the MasterMap suite) will be available to One Scotland Map Agreement (OSMA) users through their online portal. It identifies a comprehensive list of greenspaces in urban areas, providing detailed information for analysis, research and planning. The companion OS Open Greenspace product depicts areas likely to be used by the general public for exercise and recreation, such as parks and playing fields, and will be available as part of the OS Open Data portfolio. It includes site extents and, where appropriate, access points into these sites and covers both urban and rural areas. Sample data will be available for OSMA users soon.
