Placemaking was developed by Project for Public Spaces (PPS), New York. PPS is a non-profit organisation dedicated to creating and sustaining public spaces that build communities. placemaking scotland is a partnership between greenspace scotland and PPS.

PPS have over 30 years of international experience of work on public spaces and placemaking. This experience informs and underpins our placemaking work here in the UK. The greenspace scotland team was trained by PPS and greenspace scotland is the only UK organisation to be accredited by PPS as a provider of placemaking services and training.

More information on the work of PPS - and on international projects - can be found on their website
