The National Federation of Parks and Green Spaces, supported by Keep Britain Tidy, the trade paper Horticulture Week and other major organisations, has drafted a public petition to the UK Government raising urgent concerns over the damage being caused to greenspace by dramatic cuts to budgets for staff and maintenance, and the lack of funding and investment by local and national government. The petition will also call on Government to ensure adequate public resources for all greenspaces, a statutory duty to manage these spaces to a decent (Green Flag) standard, and a national inquiry into these matters. The partners are calling on all local and national organisations to back it and publicise it widely. You can download the NFPGS May update here
